Dancing is a state of mind. Tapping to a catchy tune is dancing. Bobbing our head up and down to the car radio is dancing. Swaying any way we can in a wheelchair is dancing. For most groups, though, we move our feet (walk) to the beat of the live music. For folks who haven't danced in a long time, this is quite a revelation, and the joy and smiles that I witness keep me coming back to lead dancing at church functions, weddings, and other gatherings. The dances are relatively simple, but there's still something in there to give folks a tiny bit of challenge and a sense of accomplishment, which adds another dimension to the joy of music and movement.
